Need help setting up new computers to existing network printer?
We have a Ricoh color copier/fax/printer in our office that is hooked up to the network and everyone who is in the office now can print to it just fine, however, we just recently got a few new employees who need to have it set up so they can print.
I have loaded the drivers on the computers in question, went to find new printer wizard and found it, got it all set up yet it will not print a test page or any other document.
I have double checked all of the settings and drivers with every computer in our office that can print to that printer and it is exactly the same. Anyone got any ideas? The IT guy we use charges us $300 per visit so im trying to save him as a last resort.
Thanks for the quick reply Viper, but that is what I have done. As I stated above, Everything is exactly the same as every other computer in my office, IP, printer name, driver, port, etc.. Its just not printing on the new computers
When I set up network printers, first thing I do is go to the printer and using the built in menu on the printer, I print out it's configuration. That then gives me the IP address to the printer.
Then I will go to the computer, click add a printer and select the radio button - A network printer.
Then I type in the IP address for that printer.
Before I would have downloaded the drivers from the website, like hp.com if the printer is from HP.
Then when it says which printer, I select have disk and point to the drivers.
Then it should print fine.
